Leadership Development Cohort

Now in its third year, the ALDS Leadership Development Cohorts provide emerging and experienced leaders with the opportunity to grow alongside peers from across the ALDS community. Facilitated by Garet Libbey, an executive coach, leadership consultant, and former independent school leader with more than two decades of experience developing leaders and teams.  There will also be special guest conversations with experienced ALDS school leaders. This cohort include 7 virtual sessions and 4 one on one coaching sessions. This cohort include 7 virtual sessions and 4 one on one coaching sessions.  A minimum of 7 leaders will be required to run this cohort.

ALDS Mastermind Leadership Program

The ALDS Mastermind Leadership Program offers a structured space for collaborative problem-solving, peer learning, and professional support. Rather than following a leadership curriculum, participants bring real-time challenges and opportunities to the group, where experienced leadership coaches facilitate meaningful discussion, fresh perspectives, and shared solutions.  This cohort includes 6 virtual sessions over the course of the school year.  A minimum of 7 leaders will be required to run this cohort.

New Heads Cohort

Designed for Interim Heads and Heads in their first, second, or third year, the ALDS New Heads Cohort provides a trusted community of peers navigating the unique opportunities and challenges of school leadership. Participants connect through 7–8 virtual sessions to share experiences, solve problems together, learn from experienced ALDS leaders, and build relationships that extend well beyond their early years as Head. The cohort is facilitated by Alan Sparrow, an accomplished independent school leader, executive coach, and consultant with nearly five decades of leadership experience. Thanks to a generous grant from the E.E. Ford Foundation, participation is fully funded at no cost to your school.  A minimum of 7 leaders will be required to run this cohort.
